about nancy

I am an American photographer living in Scandinavia. After 20 years of working as a photographer in the United States, I married a Norwegian and settled in Oslo, Norway. I travel very often to the States as well as many international locations.

I started shooting at age three, when my brother gave me a camera and showed me how the darkroom worked. At age eight, I got a big Brownie box camera, and at 12, a Kodak Baby Brownie. I made portraits of my friends, tree roots and rocks.

I started publishing my photos at 16, then went to art school at a university in New York City and a design school in Minneapolis. I studied for seven years and launched my career.

I love my work and the experiences it gives me. I am always excited to explore a new place and the challenge of finding a way to communicate a concept. I dream in color. I have a huge range of images in my head, and they feed my personal idea machine, nonstop.
